Happy Hour Knitting and Discussion

This month's event will be at Johnny Rad's! We will have the skeeball room to the side to get our knit on with happy hour specials and grub (veggie/vegan options available)!

In light of recent events surrounding Freddie Gray and the bigger questions of systemic racism, this session will be open to discussing your thoughts, feelings, and suggestions for change as community members. Also! Johnny Rad's Pizzeria Tavern has agreed to help donate to Youth Empowered Society (YES) after their recent fire based on sales from us! Thus, even if you aren't knitting, please join us!

RSVP here: http://goo.gl/forms/wMWRqGFuju

At the event, cash is strongly preferred (ATM available)! We have been asked to have a group tab in the skeeball room because it has a different system than the main bar, so please order in the skeeball room only!

Kickoff event - ADDED Session

Due to the high interest, an extra session was added! This is another great opportunity for newbies to join, so you can learn how to start your hat and finish it up at the February 8th session. Red Emma's has plenty of affordable beverages, snacks, and food to nosh on while you knit!

**For newbies, it is recommended you come to two sessions. You can then continue to work on your hat over the following week and learn how to decrease the number of stitches/make the crown of your hat (and finish it!) at the second session.

Please feel free to bring your own yarn, or we will provide a free ball of yarn! If you have never knitted before, we will provide knitting needles (for you to keep!) and the yarn needed for a recommended donation of $5. Experienced knitters will be available to teach you!
